Inspired by Racing: The 2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition
You may have watched the Rolex 24 Hour Race from Daytona a few weeks ago. If so, you’re probably thinking that the Lexus RC F would be great to take to a track day at Las Vegas Motor Speedway or out to Willow Springs.
Coming soon is a track-ready RC F that is inspired by our RC F GT3 race car – but looks awesome on the street.
Coming later this year is the 2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition. It is the stuff made for track day heroes.
Before you Sit Here, Learn More About the 2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition
This is no ordinary RC F. It gets a horsepower bump for 2020 to 472, along with a bump in torque in the 5.0-liter, naturally-aspired V8. But there is much more.
It has a new front aerodynamic splitter made of carbon fiber, designed to increase front end downforce for better grip and more precise steering. The hood is carbon fiber, as are the side aerodynamics aids and the fixed rear spoiler. The latter replaces the active spoiler with its fixed position on top of the trunk to reduce drag and adding downforce in the rear.
With the addition of these carbon fiber elements, the Track Edition weighs 176 pounds less than the normal RC F model.
The RC F Track Edition is not just about carbon fiber aerodynamics and weight savings. The brakes receive an upgrade with Brembo carbon ceramic rotors, designed for weight reduction, as well as to withstand extreme heat cycling during performance driving. BBS supplies a set of 19-inch forged alloy wheels, inspired by the racing wheels on the RC F GT3 race cars.
The result is a 0-60 MPH sprint time in under four seconds — 3.96 seconds, to be exact.
Choose Your Track Day Weapon Wisely
If the carbon fiber aerodynamics aids and fixed spoiler aren’t your thing, you can still get the standard 2020 RC F with the increased horsepower and torque as in the Track Edition. You will also have more color options available on the standard RC F than the Track Edition, too.
Lexus of Henderson will see the arrival of the 2020 RC F and the Track Edition later this year. If you are looking for that adrenaline rush from a track-inspired Lexus, contact us to become one of the first in Southern Nevada to get one.
