The Lexus ES

As one of the original Lexus models, the ES sedan has always satisfied its loyal owners with a perfect mix of luxury, space, ease of operation, and value. The Lexus ES continues to deliver these attributes in a sharper, sleeker, more luxurious – and sporty – package.

Exterior Design

The first thing you notice on the ES is a deeper and more prominent version of our signature spindle grille. This face has been luxuriously crafted onto a body that is elegant, modern, and stylish. Four big doors open to a cabin that is made for ease of entry and exit. The trunk lid is shaped and crafted by the wind, as with the rest of the body. Trimmings are subtle with enough chrome to lure the luxury customer into its sharpened-edge design.

Step Inside and Drive!

Step inside a cabin made for five adults. Each seat is comfortably upholstered in soft NuLuxe or Aniline leather. The dashboard has been redesigned for improved controls and crowned with a wider screen driven by Lexus Enform. The interior’s accents are coordinated with the color of the upholstery, including several available wood trims. Instrumentation is straightforward with a larger customizable information screen for trip and vehicle readouts.

An available 12.3-inch widescreen is the hub for audio functions, a navigation system and the connection to Lexus Enform for directions and the use of smartphone apps. The new ES can also make use of Apple CarPlay and onboard Wi-Fi, driven by Verizon. Trunk space is even more generous in the new ES, with 16.7 cubic feet available for long trips or a run to the store.

Safety First!

A Lexus is built to be safe. Even more so now with Lexus safety System+ 2.0, which adds more dynamic functionality to its systems, ensuring an even more secure drive. Active safety features include a Pre-Collision System with all-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and daytime bicyclist detection, Lane Departure Assist, a Backup Camera, Intuitive Parking Assist, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Tracing Assist, and Smart Stop Technology. To further enhance these technologies, Lexus Enform Safety Connect is available to connect with Lexus if an issue arises with the ES. Enform can also be monitored through a smartphone with its own app.

Performance Choices

There are two choices in power. The ES 350 offers a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 302 horsepower, which gets up to 33 MPG on the highway. The ES 350 comes with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. For a more sustainable choice, there is the ES 300h Hybrid, and a 2.5-liter Atkinson Cycle four-cylinder is matched with the Lexus Hybrid Drive electric motor. The result is an estimated combined fuel consumption average of 44 MPG, while certified as a Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV). An electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission with intelligence (ECVT-i) is available only on the ES 300h.

To enhance the driving experience, a drive mode selector knob can switch the ES 350 and ES 300h from Eco to Sport, as well as Sport S+ on the ES 350 F Sport, depending on the kind of driving you’re doing.  An EV mode is available on the ES 300h for driving in low speeds using only battery power.

Value

Pricing for the ES 350 starts at $39,500, while the ES 300h comes with a base price of $41,310. The new ES 350 F Sport will start from $44,035. Comprehensive packages are available with each model with a level of equipment to turn an ES into an individual’s delight.
