Lexus Teams with adidas S.E.E.D. for Lexus RX Inspired by “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”

The latest creation from Lexus and adidas is truly a work of art. Inspired by the recently-released “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, the duo came together to design a custom, one-of-a-kind Lexus RX 500h F SPORT. Along with the S.E.E.D. student design team and Carbon, this unique Lexus is a testament to what can happen when engineering and design come together.

An Inspiring Collaboration

As a part of the electric revolution, the Lexus RX 500h fits right in with the vision of adidas in creating an athletic collection inspired by Wakanda. The custom Lexus tells a story right off the bat with the exterior wrap created by 3D printing company Carbon. Its purple and gold pattern reflects both Wakanda and the adidas collection, with a diamond pattern inspired by Black Panther’s claw necklace. Gold details reflect his suit, and custom badging on the exterior is spelled out in Wakanda’s fictional alphabet.

The interior reflects many of the exterior design choices with a tribal gold print on the seating, door panel inserts, and steering wheel. Lexus and adidas logos are featured throughout, with more details in the Wakanda alphabet, like on the door sill plate. Carbon-printed materials are included in the same materials that they use to make some adidas shoes, and laser-cut wood with gold trim is included prominently around the shifter.

Lexus and adidas used this opportunity to put a spotlight on young designers. By teaming up across various industries, this collaboration gives a voice to aspiring designers who can showcase their creativity and passion in a unique and impactful way. It might seem at first that a sportswear designer and luxury car brand is an interesting pairing, but it shows that each brand has the same mission: to innovate and create in new and interesting ways.
