The New Lexus RZ
Something special is on the horizon. You can’t hear it because it’s all-electric, but you can see it, because it has the unmistakable stunning design from Lexus. We’re talking about the new Lexus RZ for 2023, the first-ever fully electric car for the renowned luxury brand. With its arrival in early 2023, you can be one of the first to experience the new model here at Lexus of Henderson.
Electric Performance
The new RZ comes in just one trim level, which is named the 450e, and therefore, its sole powertrain will apply to any and all RZ models. That powertrain utilizes electric battery power, of course, but the battery is uniquely placed under the vehicle floor to retain a low center of gravity. This ultimately enhances performance and stability. With a full charge, the RZ 450e is expected to have a driving range of up to 225 miles.
Even though it’s electric, the RZ will still have Lexus’ famous AWD capabilities. This comes from the DIRECT4 AWD system which uses a series of sensors to detect vehicle metrics like wheel speed, steering angle and acceleration to deliver the appropriate amount of power to the front or rear wheels. The system can direct 100% of the power to the front wheels, 100% of the power to the rear wheels or any combination of power distribution in between.
High-Tech Features
Inside the Lexus RZ, you’ll find features that are just as high-tech as the powertrain we talked about above. One of the most innovative technologies in the RZ is the digital door latch with Safe Exit Assist. The feature is able to detect conditions surrounding the vehicle, keeping the door locked in the event you attempt to open it into traffic or oncoming cyclists. Once the coast is clear, the latch will release and you can confidently open the door safely.
The RZ also features the Lexus Interface, an intuitive entertainment and navigation system accessed through a large central display. The functions can also be accessed through seamless voice commands thanks to the Intelligent Assistant.
