What’s New: 2024 LC 500 Convertible
Lexus of Henderson is fortunate to be in an area with some of the country’s best year-round climate for the exhilarating feel of top-down driving. That feeling is as good as it gets when combined with the dedication of Lexus Engineering to provide the most optimized top-down driving experience in the industry. That, of course, would be the 2024 Lexus LC 500 Convertible.
The LC 500 convertible benefits from several changes for the 2024 model year. Including new standard features and the addition of the Bespoke Build option across the model line. Bespoke Build enables additional customization of wheels, roof and exterior colors, and interior trim and colors.
New Standard Features

The 12.3-inch touchscreen is now standard on all models and is wirelessly compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The high-definition display provides easy-to-use controls and clear information to the driver and front-seat passenger. Additional standard features include Intuitive Parking Assist, which will parallel park or back into a perpendicular parking space for you. Also standard is the Panoramic View Monitor to help you view any objects around the car, and you park perfectly when you want to do it yourself.
Perfect parallel parking will also help protect the LC500’s standard gloss-black 21-inch forged alloy wheels previously found on the LC 500h. 21-inch forged alloy wheels with a combination of gloss black metallic coating and machined finish are also available on all trims.
Deeply Dedicated Convertible Engineering

While the LC 500 is based on the LC 500 Coupe, they didn’t just lop off the roof, add a soft one and call it a day. The engineering and design adjustments to optimize the top-down experience run deep. Several structural enhancements were made to keep the body rigid. The front and rear suspension dampers, coils, and bushings are specifically tuned to accommodate the convertible’s structural changes and weight shifts. The Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) tuning is also tuned to complement the suspension changes. AVS continually adjusts damping control in response to driving operation and road surface conditions. The changes can be great or subtle to the point that there can be 650 distinct levels of damping force.
The 500 in the LC’s name, of course, refers to the 5.0-liter V8 under the hood. The naturally-aspirated V8 delivers a satisfying linear throttle response across the RPM band and a V8 rumble-to-roar that is perfect for top-down driving by sound with the Direct-Shift 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine is rated at 471 horsepower at 7,100 rpm and 398 lb.-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm, which brings an impressive 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 168 mph.
More Fun, Less Wind and Noise

The exterior and interior were designed to reduce wind noise when driving top-down at speed. Conversation at highway speeds is enabled by a windscreen blocking wind from entering from behind and Active Noise Control which combines sound insulation and absorption techniques to help suppress unwanted harshness from entering the cabin. For lower speeds, such as driving in the city, a standard transparent polycarbonate wind deflector helps restrict unwanted air from entering the cabin.
Also keeping the driver and passenger comfortable, the climate control system automatically adjusts based on the top position. This extends to the steering wheel, seat, and bespoke convertible neck heaters. Similarly, the audio system is specifically tuned for the convertible’s acoustics and automatically adjusts the sound equalization for the top position.
Changing that top position can occur at speeds up to 31 mph and takes 15 seconds to lower and 16 seconds to raise, depending on environmental factors. With the top raised, the driver and passenger can enjoy the enclosure of the four-layer top, which includes three layers of fabric and an additional layer of sound absorption material. As another example of Lexus’ attention to detail, the power window controls are linked to the top mechanism so that the transition from fully enclosed to fully open can be enabled by a single button.

The 2024 LC 500 Convertible comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, a suite of key active safety and convenience features to the vehicle. These features include:
- Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection
- All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
- Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
