The Pre Collision System comprises a Millimeter Wave Radar and a Monocular Camera. These two sensing units are designed to scan the road for potential hazards, including the vehicle in front of you. This system can detect not only other vehicles; it detects bicycles and pedestrians.

Once a potential situation is detected by the sensing units, the system warns the driver through a message on the multi-information display. Then, the system applies the brakes according to how the pedal is depressed. Once it detects a possible collision, the brakes will be applied and brake lights will flash rapidly to alert others behind you.

If equipped, the Adaptive Variable Suspension System will adjust the damping force to help maintain an appropriate vehicle posture.

While driving in a range of 25-50 MPH, if you have to do an evasive steering maneuver, the system can apply emergency steering assist, keeping your Lexus within the lane. This system also assists on left lane turns.
