Lexus NX, GX Star In “Moonfall”

Did you know one of the stars of the movie, “Moonfall” is actually a Lexus owner?

Hallie Berry’s own Lexus RX will not be in this new sci-fi disaster film, but she and her co-stars Michael Pena and Charlie Plummer will be sharing screen time with another one of our models.

As Lionsgate’s official automotive partner, their latest screen release will feature a Lexus GX 460 and a new NX as part of the cast of “Moonfall.”

Directed by Roland Emmerich, the movie tells the tale of a mysterious force that knocks the moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. Intertwined in the plot are a few appearances from its automotive cast. Charlie Plummer’s character drives the all-new NX in a high-action scene. Berry rides along in a GX 460, playing the role as a government vehicle. Michael Peña’s character just happens to be a Lexus dealer and has a scene with him at his location.

To support the movie, a marketing campaign called Lexus x “Moonfall” starts with a co-branded 30-second commercial, “Enjoy the Ride,” featuring the NX in high-action footage from the film. The Lexus x “Moonfall” campaign will be promoted across video, digital and social channels. Media partnerships include The Verge, IMDb, Reddit, Roku and YouTube.
